Heavy Metal Lake

A sign at the lake: 
YOU CAN DISPOSE HERE THE LIMBS AND THE ORGANS 
THAT YOU DEEM SUPLUS TO YOU
The sign was new

There were many people lining up to the lake that day
More people the next day
A dog that attempted to run the whole line
Died with its tongue out before he reached the end

A man when he reached the edge of the lake knelt on the ground
Picked up a stone and opened his head with it
People behind him were patiently waiting for their turn

There are two possibilities for the man with the stone
He may have hit his head with the stone he found near him
Or he may have banged his head against a stone lying on the ground

He pulled out his brain and threw it in the water
Then he went back by the way he came and left the city
Other people did the same
And more running dogs died the same way 

Weeks went by and one day the news of the lake appeared in a newspaper
ALL THE FISH LIVING IN THE LAKE HAVE DIED, the paper said
And everyone had left the city
Loose sheets of newspapers blew about on the streets
One sheet fell onto the face of a dead dog and covered its eyes
